Top 3 Last Minute African Beach Breaks

If there’s one thing us Brits love, it’s the beach. While the summer season may have come to a close, it doesn’t mean that’s our chance of sun, sea and sand scuppered for another year – there are plenty of last minute holidays in sunshine-laden destinations that would be perfect for a spontaneous getaway, giving you a good dose of fun in the sun that is often needed as the days become darker and colder.

Take your pick from these fabulous resorts and head off for a week or two before the festive frenzy is upon you!

Tenerife

Situated off the coast of North Africa, it’s no wonder Tenerife and its neighbouring Canary Islands provide year-round sunshine for its visitors to bask in. Whether you’re travelling with family or just with a couple of friends, there are plenty of resorts to choose from to suit your style including the popular jaunts, Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. From the waterparks to the volcanic Mount Teide, there’s something for everyone here – even if it is just chilling on the beach or by the pool for the duration of your stay!

Tunisia

If you’re looking for something a little more diverse, a break in Tunisia would be ideal. Resorts including Hammamet are perfect for tourists who want to intersperse their beach days with culture-filled trips to souks and local attractions, such as the El Djem Amphitheatre and the Roman ruins of Dougga. Of course, you could just spend your days trying out the local watersports and bathing on the beach!

Egypt

The ultimate North African destination, Egypt is as culturally and historically significant as it is beautiful. From the azure waters and sandy beaches to the ancient Egyptian ruins to be explored, if you want an all-round adventure, this is the place to go.

Pack your bags and get ready for your spur-of-the-moment African beach adventure – you’ll love it!
