TURISTA Magazine: Travel to Camiguin for its Sights of Wonder

One of the things that I love about wayfaring is having the opportunity to share my passion for it. And in the past two years, I've been offered the chance to write for a few local magazines. It is through print media that I continuously get to show more of my love for exploring the Philippines.

Last year (October), my beach feature on Camiguin was published on TURISTA Magazine. I was truly ecstatic when I finally saw it, as it was my best travel write-up yet. I was also super proud of myself, as the article got to cover two pages of the mag.

Check out Rubel's photo by the beach! :)

I really put a lot of effort on this particular story as I loved everything about Camiguin. It truly counts as a Philippine destination that's worth traversing. How so? Well, before Cebu Pacific offered their direct flights to Camiguin, my group and I had to travel in all transportation means --- via air, land and sea. It was a seasick-and-butt-numbing kind of experience! [Read our Mindanao 2010 escapade here]

I can't help but look back on the many blessings that 2013 has provided me, as it gave me another shot at ticking off one more dream from my bucket list: to write for a travel publication (and still counting).

Here's to more travel features this 2014! :)

  16. I have never been to Camiguin. Sad reality! I would really want to go one day, maybe this year who knows. I read your article when I picked up a copy of the magazine at the NAIA Terminal 3 late last year and Camiguin has been on my mind since.
