Live life and explore -- 37 Quotes that will encourage you to travel!
I've been feeling under the weather for a month now because of the foot cast that constantly reminds me of a very bad fall. Not only is my left calf muscle rapidly wasting away, being immobile for the longest time also takes an emotional toll on me. The month of April was supposedly an exciting time for me since travel plans were already in place (a quick beach escape, a weekend festival, a trip to Tacloban City).
Being on house arrest and not being able to work is pretty sad on my end. But I still try to keep things productive by stuffing myself with all the positive things that one can get from online resources (Pinterest and Craftgawker are awesome boredom-busters!)
Just wanted to share one of my current pick-me-uppers --- a super cool travel layout from Travel + Escape, which has certainly helped lift my spirit! :)

Oh yeah I am encouraged enough! :D But still I need to save money to bring my family with me during travels.
ReplyDeleteI've only travelled by plane at least 4 times in my life. My first time was when I was 15. I traveled 14 hours straight from Manila to San Francisco --- alone. and that had kind of get me to develop this paranoia about flying. These tips will surely help me take out that nervousness off, if not, overcome it completely. Thanks for this post :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the quotes! Actually, we can make different articles basing only on each quote. I particularly like the one abt New Yorkers not looking up. I guess it applies to each local, wherever we are. Only tourists appreciate what we locals in a certain place take for granted.

ReplyDeleteI love this quote "Travel is more than seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on deep and permanent, in the ideas of living". Aside from Quotes, we have a lot of photos that inspired us to travel :)
ReplyDeleteThey should add explore and be free by Budget Byahera as part of these quotes as the quote is really catchy and very practical.

ReplyDeleteIt would also be a good idea if everybody could pitch in. That would greatly help in saving up for a potential travel. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! 14 hours is indeed long -- so kudos to your 15 year old self! Anyway, the longest plane ride that I've ever experienced was 4, and that was only South Korea bound! :P

ReplyDeleteBe a traveller not a tourist, i love this. I travel a lot too and the purpose is to enjoy the place, take a lot of photos, bonding with family. This post reminds me that I miss Philippines a lot. We were there 2010.
ReplyDeletehaha yes, I'm actually preparing my things now for my first ever Boracay trip! =)
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes. And as a traveller at heart, I can relate with almost all of them.
ReplyDeleteThose are really wonderful quotes to encourage travelers. Travelling for me is a way to detach ourselves from the norm, an escape to a paradise that motivates us to work hard everyday!
ReplyDeleteI like the quotes. One thing that makes me wonder is, "Adventure without risk is Disneyland." Why? Because I've been there lately and I think there's still risks which are risk of having knee and joint pain because of the prolonged walking even developing sore calves, which I actually experienced due to frequent walking from morning until night but it was a fun-filled experience.
ReplyDeleteTraveling once in a while helps me forget the normal world I struggle to live everyday. Get well soon, sis!
ReplyDeleteadventure without risk is disneyland sounds very cute for me! i've been wanting to go to disneyland haha I have proved that being lost in a place in a foreign country is indeed fun I've been lost many time already hihi
ReplyDeletei like that quote from Jason Mraz , sometimes because we are so familiar with a certain place that we fail to recognize its true beauty. I will do a lot of that looking up ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine my soul stuck in a room. For a traveler like you, I can feel how hard it is. I hope you are already feeling good and fully recovered now. It's not too late yet. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd... this is why I sometimes blindly book a ticket, pack stuff for a 3-day stay, and just go SOMEWHERE. It's good for the soul and an escape from the hectic city lifestyle is good for the health too.
ReplyDeleteoh! I agree so much with Ms. Angelina Jolie, it is by traveling that I understand more about life 'coz it provides me more opportunities to meet different people and explore new places.
ReplyDeleteHow's you feet going on now? Being in house arrest (as you say) is too boring. Good to hear you make use of your time wisely. This year I don't travel much. Money and time are main factors.
ReplyDeleteMy right foot is healing, thanks for asking. :) But since I've had so many medical check-ups, finances have become tight all together. No more travels for me now.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Angelina Jolie. She definitely can walk the talk. :)
ReplyDeleteWhich destination have you gone to lately? :)
ReplyDeleteOne word Robi: Nakakabaliw! :P My foot hasn't fully recovered yet, but at least it's healing. :)
ReplyDeleteSurely! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely doing the same. I myself fail to heed this simple advice. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been lost quite a few times already, and the worst experience was while walking in Macau. And same here! I've never been to any Disneyland theme park yet.
ReplyDeleteSame here sis, and thank you! Hope to see you soon. :)
ReplyDeleteHear Hear! I couldn't agree more with what you just said. :)
ReplyDeleteGood to know. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen will you be back Ms. Tess? SHould you come back soon, reunion na toh! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the above image/infographic. How I wish I can travel a lot like you! With 2 kiddos on house, traveling is kind of "not an option" for us today. :). Hope your foot is Ok na ate.
ReplyDeleteTravel makes one closer and acquainted to places less traveled... I like to travel too for I want to place to the unknown...
ReplyDeleteMy foot is healing naman, and thanks for that message. :) Oh, and I didn't know na 2 na pala kids mo. :)
ReplyDeleteSame here po!
ReplyDeleteInteresting quotes you have there. When I travel, I always remind myself of this quote "Always challenge yourself to do something you've never done before" and all of my trips are worthwhile but I make sure that my activities are still within the safe zone :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the first qoute. And I do agree with it... Not all those who roam around have gone away from home. They're traveling to see beautiful places, experience the unknown and event explore them.
ReplyDeleteHave you done something extreme during your travels, like challenging yourself to go bungee jumping (and the likes)? :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Sir! :)
ReplyDeleteThese really interesting quotes to use on travel articles ha, and even in other niche. :) And I like Jon Kraukauer has to say... "The core of man's spirit comes from new experiences."
ReplyDeleteThe quotes are very inspiring! They make me want to pack my bags now! :)
ReplyDeleteI guess to each is own. Some people take traveling as enjoying life and indulging in it, while others would want to just stay at home and relish their moments with families and loved ones by doing activities together without spending anything.
