Malaysia Hotel: Tune Hotels, Downtown Kuala Lumpur

In our brief time in KL, we spent our days sleeping in the comforts of Tune Hotels, Downtown Kuala Lumpur. It was a hassle-free stay, as we didn't experience any problems from the booking stage to checking out from the accommodations (we loved the staff at Tune, as they were super courteous and helpful). We booked our stay from November 16-18 and 20-22, 2013 (we were in Penang in between these dates), and only had to pay PHP1,500 or 120 Malaysian Ringgit per night.

We availed of the Double Room, which we paid to have a 12-hour AC use, and a day's worth of Wi-Fi access.

  • A/C unit and Ceiling Fan
  • 1 power socket on the wall (3pin, 220-240V, 13A, 50/60Hz)
  • Electronic keylock

There were several facilities that weren't included in the room package but can always be purchased as "Add-ons" such as: Early Arrival, Late Departure, Air Conditioning, Towels + Toiletries, In-Room WiFi, Luggage Storage and Breakfast Set.

WHY WE LOVED TUNE HOTELS

There were several establishments and eateries near Tune Hotels, Downtown Kuala Lumpur that were just short walks from us. So whenever we'd have extra time to use or when we'd go hungry, we would just cross over, and we'd have immediate access to plenty of merchants (i.e.McDonald's, KFC, Sogo Mall, Maju Point Mall, Dr. Cafe Coffee Chain, Pizzahut).

But if you don't feel like going out, the hotel already has its own in-house stores. You will find a 7-Eleven, and a San Francisco Coffee shop that serves breakfast daily (the delicious set that I ordered was already 28 RM for 2 pax).

HOW TO GET TO TUNE HOTELS, DOWNTOWN FROM KL SENTRAL

If you're arriving in KL during daytime, you can ride the LRT from KL Sentral to Sultan Ismail (from KL Sentral, alight in Masjid Jamek Station before boarding the next train to Sultan Ismail). Sultan Ismail is just a 5-minute walk to the hotel.
