#DubaiEATS High Tea at Melt and Roast
Before the lockdown in Dubai, my friend and I had the opportunity to try Melt and Roast’s High Tea offering. We expected that it was going to be the old-fashioned tea time type. The kind where hot drinks and some bite-sized delicacies were the only ones served on a tiered stand, but we thought wrong! The mouthwatering spread that was catered during our visit completely surprised us.
Melt and Roast’s High Tea wasn’t the usual kind. It was better than the ones I’m familiar with. The savory and bite-sized delectables were definite palate pleasers. I can't remember all of the names of the dishes. But I enjoyed everything that they prepared for us. And out of all the treats, I liked the tofu skewer more. We dipped it in a spicy red sauce. This dip made me love Indian and vegan food even more.
Of course, there were also sweets in the mix. Their Red Velvet cupcakes are a must-try! I probably ate 3 or 4 of these in just under an hour! Oh, and their hot milk tea (served in these shot glass types) was my favorite too! I had two orders of these. By the way, there were organic shots as well. I tried the ABC shot (apple, beet, carrot), and I liked it.
Jane and I didn't eat lunch at the time and came too early for high tea. So we decided to order some late lunch, which was this delicious grilled combo. It consisted of a 1/2 grilled chicken, flavored rice, gravy, 2 Tandori Roti, Chutney and salad. This was good for two people sharing, and it only cost us 36 AED.
The spicy and tender chicken dipped in chutney was the best! I had a pleasant dining experience because of this grilled combo. It showed me how much Indian food I've been missing all this time.
We also loved their kind and courteous staff (special mention to Peter), as they made our time at Melt and Toast exceptional. I can’t wait to go back!
