Budget Biyahera featured on TRAVEL Magazine

Budget Biyahera as a blog has been up for several years now. Although still young in age, I am very much grateful for all the little (yet super big deal) recognitions that I've been getting throughout the years, especially at present.

During the 2nd quarter of 2012, Meet Manila (the Philippines newest and most comprehensive travel portal wherein #ThoughtfulTourism is promoted) invited me to one of their 'Tertulia Night' events. From there, I was awarded as one of the Empowered Travelers after sharing my views on 'What it means to be an empowered traveler'. On top of that, I was also gifted with a new Lenovo Q350 phone --- a very handy device that could certainly help the wanderluster in me.

Along with the perks of being an Empowered Traveler, I was also given the chance to contribute for the POSTCARDS section on one of the Philippines travel magazines: TRAVEL.

As you all know, my contribution on their Volume Five edition is finally out. Along with my friend Nyel O'Yek's contribution on EL NIDO, you'll also get to read tips and see photos from Rubel and I's recent backpacking trip in Ilocos. Here's a sneak peek of our POSTCARDS contributions:

2012 has indeed given so many blessings and rewards to a humble travel blog such as mine. And for that, I will forever be grateful to those who see value in my blog. Thank you ALL! :) Thank you for giving me the chance to share my passion for travel.

Explore & Be Free!
Mai

P.S. Don't forget to grab your TRAVEL Magazine Volume Five 2012 copies (Yes! Plural!), as it's certainly packed with so many awesome tips on SEAT SALE 101, Secret Beaches, 40+ Spa's in the Philippines, Retail Therapy in Hong Kong and Taipei and many more!

Wow, Mai. That is so awesome! Congratulations! I am so happy for you. Being featured in a magazine is something a lot of freelancers can only dream of. Now, that you've already reached that milestone, I say, go, go, go, girl! Keep the inspiration coming. Well done, Mai. Well done. :)

Awts. I feel so bad about just writing congrats. I honestly didn't read the new set of rules but I realized it's not good (in fact it's tiring) to open all the links posted (you know where) and have lots of tabs opened all at the same time. Hahaha. That's why I ended up with congrats. anyway, sorry! :-)

Okay now. I've been meaning to become a travel blogger (I even bought a domain and been renewing it for 2 years now) but due to school and budget constraints I just couldn't wander around the country like most PTB's do. It's always inspiring to hear of stories from other parts of the country and that's what I like most about travel bloggers. They share lots of wild, fun and sometimes emotional stories about the places they've been to and been wanting to visit. I think it's every travel bloggers' dream to get featured on a travel magazine. To have their articles land on a famous travelogue or something. In fact, getting on a newspaper is already a milestone for a blogger. And if ever I become one someday I think it's more than just a milestone to get featured in a travel magazine. It's a blessing! Kudos for your blog and more travels to come. :-)

You just deserve to be recognized. There are countless travel blogs but yours has something special that readers get to see not on the physical aspect of the site itself but something that can be felt through the pages of your post. Your passion for travel is just overwhelming that people are being inspired by your experiences with a personal touch.
