DIY Photo Walk at Intramuros
I was still rocking a Nikon D40 at the time, so we were always excited about using it. And since we wanted to maximize the DSLR, we decided to go on a DIY Photo Walk. Rubel and I managed to drive all the way to Intramuros just so we could experience the very idea of 'walking while taking photos'. Intramuros was definitely the perfect venue as the sights were so picturesque.
Here are just some of the photos that we both took during that february afternoon (back in 2010):
Fort Santiago |
FORT SANTIAGO ROCKS! =) |
Love this shot as well, especially the rusty look... |
Have you been to Intramuros lately? Has anyone of you tried Carlos Celdran's tour yet? =)

Nice shots!! I love photo walk too... We went to Vigan for the holy week and asking my family to bring the kids to intramuros yesterday but we are already so tired from the travel so hopefully will visit the place next time.. ;)
ReplyDeleteIntramuros probably could be my "most visited destination" mainly bec Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila where I studied and the Bureau of Immigration where I used to work as a lawyer is in Intramuros. With the distance and many places to see, I have brought many of my friends there but I haven't blog about the visits. Maybe I should, after reading your post. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteintramuros is my special place and because of your post i suddenly miss this place. the last time i was here was my wedding day.
ReplyDeletei like the restroom signage. looks very touristy. :)
ReplyDeletei like the 2nd and 3rd photo too =)
nice to know you get to a photo walk, i've never did it before though hmm :/
I will need to do that sometime... haven't been in that place for yearssssss! nice photography- love the footsteps!:)
ReplyDeletegeez! i haven't been there but surely would be nice to visit one day!! nice photos too! xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't done much exploring but I appreciate Intramuros because it allows us Metro Manila folks to feel as if we have traveled even if we're still in Manila.
ReplyDeletelapit q lang dito pero nakakatawa indi q pa napuntahan ang INtramuros jejeje:) for sure nxt mant will visit this heritage place, tnx for posting this
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. There's a reason photography classes use Intramuros as a guinea pig for their students. It offers a lot of potentially good shots! Oh, and the photos of the Manila Cathedral look like they were taken in Europe. :))
ReplyDeleteWe have tried the trip on our own even with my kids and there would always be something new around Intramuros! Nice pictures btw!
ReplyDeleteHindi pa ko nakakasama sa walking tour ni Carlos Celdran but I heard maganda nga daw. Gusto ko i-try yon kahit once. Your pictures of Intramuros made me miss the place. lagi ko kasi yan naupuntahan dati eh, ngayon hindi na.
ReplyDeleteI use a d40! Haha! Really love it coz it's lightweight. Hihi. I gotta join one of Carlos Celdran's tours while we're in the country.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe, I haven't been to Intramuros! Gosh!! Maybe when I was still in grade school, so I can't recall any single idea about me being there. Haha! Will make sure to visit this April. :-)
ReplyDeleteIntramuros is definitely beautiful and historic. I just wished they have preserved it the way other countries would preserve their "Old Cities" or "Old Towns"
ReplyDeleteWow ganda talaga ng Intramuros! Sana makapag photowalk din ako sa Intramuros one of this days! Happy Easter
ReplyDeleteganda. parang nasa ibang country ang feel. this is one of the things i really wanna do. intramuros and vigan photo walk sana.
ReplyDeleteI've been to Intramurous just once, to have dinner at Sta Barbara's..
ReplyDeleteEven at night, this place is amazing.
It feels like a walk back in the past, with Guardia Sibil in period outfits around
I've been to Intramuros for subject photo-shoot, I say even if you don't join Celdran's tours, you can still explore the rest of the Intramuros and there are some who don't ask for any fees at all. It's the real love for the country not making money out of it.
ReplyDeleteNice. I have also experienced this kind of walk. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteako na lang siguro ang di nakakapunta ng intramuos. LOL... basta someday. thanks for the pics. Yahweh bless.
ReplyDeleteHi Violy! You should definitely take the kids to Intramuros next time. =)
ReplyDeleteHi Mhe-Anne! Let me know if you've posted your intramuros piece. Would love to read about it too. =)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Which church did you get married in? =)
ReplyDeleteYou should try it sometime, Athena. It was quite an enriching experience. =)
ReplyDeleteYou should soon, Gemma! And thank you. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks dear! =)
ReplyDeleteThat is so true. Intramuros is definitely a travel destination. It has the arts, culture, rich historical background...
ReplyDeleteHehehe.. ok lang yan. But you should visit soon, you won't be disappointed, =)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, thanks AJ! =) Got to thank my cam and the current lighting condition then for that shot. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks JM! Intramuros surely has a lot of surprises up its sleeve.. there's always something new to experience. =)
ReplyDeleteYou should visit Intramuros again soon.. It would be lovely to experience new moments this time. =)
ReplyDeleteI had to give up my D40 na, hehe! Went back to a P&S. =) And do share your Carlos Celdran tour if ever you join in soon. =) Would love to hear about your experience.
ReplyDeleteShare your experience, Ness! You might discover a new place that I haven't been to. Would love to hear about it..
ReplyDeleteSame sentiments here. And I do hope that they won't commercialize the place any further.
ReplyDeleteWhy not? It would be lovely to do a photo walk this summer. The lighting condition is absolutely perfect for such shoots. =)
ReplyDeleteHi RC! Go try it out soon. It was super enriching, nostalgic even. =) And thanks for giving me an idea, as I plan to do the same thing for my Vigan trip this June. =)
ReplyDeleteSo true! I definitely love how the Guardia Sibil are always in costume, or in uniform rather. Feels very authentic. =)
ReplyDeleteYou're also right. =) We did our own (free) photo walk and was already in awe with our own discoveries. But it would also be nice to experience Celdran's take on Intramuros' history. =)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you experience this kind of photo walk, dear? =)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's time that you gave Intramuros a visit soon. You'll love the historical site. =)
ReplyDeleteI've been to Intramuros with my family
ReplyDeletebut we never had the opportunity to join with CARLOS CELDRAN
tour guiding of the historical place. My kids were startled by the Guardia Sibil
while my husband was caught in shock upon seeing the statue of JOSE RIZAL inside the cell.
He thought it was really him.
LOL!
"matatakutin ba?"
Hahaha! What a funny experience that was! I'm also magugulatin, so parehas kami ng hubby niyo po..hehe! =)
ReplyDeleteBeen in Intramuros a couple of times already which I am so excited to blog about :) Mr. Celdran 's tour ? No haven't tried it yet but I'll be more than willing if it is free :)
ReplyDeleteCool! I've been thinking about availing of his tour.. but it has a price to it. I haven't checked the price though.. hehe
ReplyDeleteI've been to intramuros way way back. I would love to visit it with my daughter someday.
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time you visited, Weng? :)
