A world-class hotel in Laguna: Microtel, South Forbes
My best friend got married last December, and her wedding was held in St. Benedict Church by Ayala Westgrove Heights. Since it was a destination wedding, my family and I decided to stay in Laguna for the night to avoid the late drive back to Manila.
Several factors came with looking for a proper accommodation, like the location for example. I, for one, needed a hotel that wasn't too far from the church or reception venue (Angelfields Nature Sanctuary). I also wanted a nice lodging that would accommodate the needs of my family, especially with an 8-month old baby traveling with us [Click Here]. That's when I found Microtel, South Forbes. It was so perfect because not only was it 5 minutes away from the church, it was also a 30-minute drive to the reception venue.

This world-class Laguna hotel is located inside South Forbes, "a 500-acre, world-class township with residential, entertainment, academic, and sports components that encompasses the Metro Sta. Rosa-Silang-Tagaytay growth corridor". We loved that it was just minutes away from Nuvali Sta. Rosa, Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Tagaytay City and Laguna Technological Park.
A REFRESHING WELCOME
While I was getting my hair and make-up done at my friend's cabana in Angelfields, my Kuya and his family stayed in Microtel for most of the morning. They were able to rest for a while before preparing for the wedding.
It was already the month of December, so the hotel already had Christmas paraphernalia decorated all over the lobby. I actually loved the vibe, as the area exuded a refreshing ambiance. I really enjoyed being welcomed with all the glittering decor.
WHY I CHOSE MICROTEL, SOUTH FORBES
I already loved Microtel the first time I stayed with them (5 Reasons why I love Microtel, General Santos). It was in Microtel, South Forbes that I continued to see how dedicated their staff was with our every need. Moreover, the hotel consistently offered a very comfortable, clean and secure setting. The hotel definitely has world-class amenities. And on top of that, our 2-Queen Bed room was provided with the following:
- Chiropractor-approved mattresses (always the highlight of my stay!)
- Individually controlled air-conditioning
- Private toilet and shower with hot and cold water (with complimentary toiletries)
- Electronic keycard entry system
- High-speed LAN/ Wi-Fi Internet access
- TV with cable channels (which my Kuya enjoyed)
- IDD & NDD phone
- Safety deposit box
- Refrigerator
- Crib (for my nephew)
Microtel, South Forbes also offers handicapped rooms. I was able to check the interiors, and was really impressed with the inclusions, especially with the bathroom safety bars. Apart from that, I got to see their door signs, which had Braille wordings as well (a Microtel hotel standard).
Microtel, South Forbes also has a Herb Garden, which I found very fascinating. They're actually planing on growing the beautiful patch further.
Should I find myself going back to the south, I will definitely stay at Microtel again. Not only was the staff nice and accommodating, the entire place was always kept clean and maintained. Now, that's world-class for me!
