#DubaiEATS: The ultimate brisket treat from Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que
My husband and I love to eat. So when we dine out, we make sure to avail the budget-friendly restaurant selections on our Entertainer app. It's where we get some of the best bargains, like the Buy-1-Get-1 deal from Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que.
Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que in Dubai Festival City was the one we chose for lunch after much deliberation. As we waited for our orders, Yannick, our server, gave us a bowl of their complimentary flavored chips. These came with five different barbecue sauces, which Yannick explained in detail by drawing a smiley face on the plate. And as we tasted each one, we ended up liking the Texas Pit the most.
BRISKET BURGER ANYONE?
So I got the Ultimate Brisket Burger, while my husband chose the Hotlink Sausage Plate. My burger (made with Brisket patty, American cheese, beef bacon, gravy, chopped brisket, famous pickle, housemade bun) looked a bit overwhelming given how big its size was. But it was remarkably tasty! I’d give it a score of 10/10, as it was packed with meaty goodness (juicy too!). Now, there was one thing that I didn’t like, and that was the beef bacon. Unfortunately, it hardened just after a few minutes. In spite of, everything else tasted good, including the curly fries.
THE BEST HOTLINK IN TOWN!
My husband, on the other hand, ordered the Hotlink Sausage Plate. It came with the hotlink, handpicked spice mix, baked beans, curly fries, cheese sauce, famous pickle, and corn muffin). We both loved the spicy mix on it. Plus, it stayed hot until he finished the last bite. The curly fries with the cheese sauce and baked beans were also a good complement to the sausage, taste-wise.
WHAT? CHILI IN MY LEMONADE?
To help down our delish meals, we ordered Famous Dave's refillable drinks. For starters, I requested the BBQ Lemonade, which interestingly had hints of chili powder mixed into it. It was also not too tangy, which was great. All in all, it was a good and light drink.
My husband had a different order, and it was Famous Dave's Southern Sweet Tea. I wasn’t much of a fan of this drink, as it tasted like melted sugar mixed with water. It was a good thing that he liked it.
THE BEST FAMOUS DAVE SERVER
Our server that afternoon was Yannick, who was so helpful throughout our stay. He always smiled at us and was quite a commendable gentleman. His recommendations from the main course were really good and filling. He truly understood his products well. Also, halfway through our drinks, he would refill our iced teas without us even requesting. He even asked if we wanted another refill of the chips. He was that accommodating. So kudos to him and the rest of Famous Dave's for having such an amazing and well-trained DFC team!
