#STAYCATION at The Exchange Regency Residences Hotel, Ortigas

Every now and then, Rubel and I would treat each other to a nice food sesh, a spa date or to a hotel staycation (if time and budget permits) whenever we would feel stressed from work, which he has been experiencing more intensely these days. So we decided to make time to reenergize, and booked a weekend stay at the Exchange Regency Residences Hotel in Ortigas.

There were a few bloopers upon check-in, as I was the first one to come in, along with my sister. And since Rubel was the one who booked the hotel, he forgot to tell me that there would be a damage deposit of Php3,000 upon check-in. Lucky for us, my sister and I were able to collect the exact amount by emptying both my atm and our pockets. It was so hilarious because we were only left with a few pesos after paying, which was just enough for us to use on a few store purchases (bought from the nearby Family Mart) --- a few snacks and drinks that would only last us until the afternoon (and to think Rubel was expected to arrive late from work). Good thing Rubel ordered Yellowcab pizza and pasta that evening, which we paired with a bottle of wine that his client gave him that same day.

Our Deluxe Classic Room was quite spacious, and was furnished with just the right amount of fittings. It was also modern chic given the choice of movables displayed in the room (i.e. bed side lamp, vases on the wall).

There was also a 32-inch flat screen LCD TV mounted on the wall that showed a couple of my favorite cable channels, a mini refrigerator and bar that were prestocked with drinks and snacks, a writing desk by the window (with a view that I loved looking at while working), a comfy bed (we could've used more pillows though), and a clean bathroom complete with towels and toiletries.

OTHER ROOM FEATURES:

-Dedicated In-room Internet Connection
-Bottled Water upon arrival
-Individually Controlled Air-conditioning
-In-room Safe and Cabinet
-Intercom
-Hot & Cold Shower
-Hairdryer
-Bathroom Amenities: Bath towels, bath mat, bath soap and hair & body wash

We also loved the glass windows that offered a view of the city and mountains. It was actually refreshing to have blinds that can be easily closed at one tug, to immediately set the light and mood inside our room.

I was already so tan from my summer trip in Calaguas with friends, but still wanted to go for a swim. Good thing the hotel had an indoor pool, which had a steel roof placed on top of it, as a means to safeguard guests from an ongoing construction (an added layer of protection from the sun!). The water was cold the entire time though, even during our morning dips. But we didn't mind, as there were only a few people who we shared the pool with. Plus, there were free towels for us to use everytime we'd go for a swim!

Rubel and I also loved our complimentary buffet breakfast at Mario's, which is located right outside of the hotel (but still part of the building). We were pleasantly pleased with the food choices every morning.

Rubel and I checked out feeling relaxed and ready to take on another week filled with work and blessings. THE VERDICT? We will definitely stay here again!
